Votive Portraits in the Style of Frida Kahlo
I wrote this after reading a book on the art of Frida Kahlo. Though I was touched by the emotional struggles she went through in her life and put into her art, I also thought that some of her direct symbolic representation seemed ridiculous, at least in the way it was described. I wanted to try to make my own crappy pictures and describe them the same way.
I must admit that this is probably one of my favorite posts yet.
